Learn more about our unique & uplifting United Methodist Community:

What are the worship services like?
Let's put it this way:
We sing from the UMC hymnal...
and we also sing from projected words on a screen.
Worship at PFUMC is a blending of
traditional United Methodist practices and beliefs
with a touch of modern liturgy and praise music.
What should I wear to worship?
Anything you'd like!
(Being fully-clothed is preferred, though!)

What are the sermons like?
Biblically-based, dynamic, relatable, and engaging
Is there something for my child?
Yes! There's a special children’s sermon planned for
every worship service, and you can always expect
a children’s church* opportunity to follow.

PFUMC is committed to the ongoing support and affirmation of God's children and youth.
As part of that commitment, Pinckneyville First
offers leadership and service opportunities
for interested kids and their families.

Your child has an open invitation to serve/assist
in weekly worship. PFUMC offers leadership opportunities to our younger attendees such as:
-
Serving as an acolyte (candle-lighter).
-
Collecting a "Noisy Change Offering" while "adult" ushers facilitate a time of giving during worship.
-
Assisting the Pastor with Holy Communion.
-
And more...
And one final nugget about the kids at PFUMC:
Pinckneyville First strives to frequently offer
youth-centered gatherings/outings year-round.

We offer Sunday school classes for ALL ages

What are your views on Holy Communion?
Everyone (yes EVERYONE) is welcome to
receive the sacrament of Holy Communion.
Communion is celebrated the first Sunday of each month.

*"Children's church" is a time of learning and sharing
that is specifically designed for younger disciples.
